My serious ‘What I am thankful for’ post!

Hi everybody! I hope those who are celebrating the Thanksgiving holidays are having a blast today! I’m not normally one to wax poetic on all of the things I am thankful for in my life because I like to live the ideal that it’s better to show the people/things that I appreciate through my actions towards them. However, today I’d like to share some of the things that I am thankful for besides the obvious ones like my husband and my girls. This is my ‘serious’ thankful for post. I’ll do another, lighter, post here in a second.

Since my husband has worn many different uniforms, including a Firefighters, a Sheriff’s Department uniform, and currently that of a 911 Dispatcher, I’d like to thank those of you who take our emergency calls everyday and answer them! You’re everyday heroes! You’re amazing! You give unselfishly and never ask for a thing in return, no matter the sacrifice. Thank you for your service to your community!

My co-author/sister-in-law and I are military brats. My father-in-law retired from the Marine Corps and both of my parents served in the Army (where my Dad also retired from)! So I’d like to take a second and thank those who serve in a different kind of uniform. Our soldiers! Thank you for fighting to keep us free. There will never be enough words to compensate for your sacrifices. Thank you for your service to our country!

In conclusion, thank you all around to everyone who wears some kind of uniform, doctors, nurses, paramedics, law enforcement, firefighters, dispatchers, our soldiers, and anyone else I may have missed! I hope you have a fantastic holiday and know that many do appreciate what you do!

What's happenin' peeps?
